PLEASE REMEMBER TO TAKE YOUR PARTY FAVOURS

no one is named guide
without sufficient vision

& to be admitted into this
house means getting blind

so that all the people
we know are here

but we don’t see them

who will steer them
around the planets we
have stolen in the kitchen

how you ignore my nagging
to sharpen the cleaver

you expect me to butcher
a whole heavenly body

with an oyster knife & only
my small hands alone & unseen

by those we have invited
to our best ever party

the theme is endurance

we feel this
is universal enough

THIS IS NOT A SURVIVAL GUIDE

listen deer heart
we were never silk billows
from a plummeting backpack
snares of woven grass
or unrequited howls
instead there is music
airborne rodents in tragic fur
the knife in the bark
able to stand by itself
what can theatre teach you
about atrocity
nothing we cannot learn in a forest
the almanac says
two can make a circle
we are greedy as hemispheres
our elements alloy
mouths overwhelmed
by impish dark
a roe buck stands up in the light
magnetic north is always red

RADAR IS ANOTHER KIND OF INFERENCE

: we entered the punchclock : saw stars : felled canopies
: here we strung seasons : in jigsaw mileage : spelt out trollish
: & vague : i am not the salt emissary : after all : likewise
: it is possible : to sink : in miles of brine : & stay alive
: we haven't the time : for choice : staying alive is why
: we attend : sign angles : nocturnal shrills
                                                                           : our hollowest neighbourly runes
