Zeal Harris is a Los Angeles based artist via Hampton, Virginia and Washington DC. As a teenager, she drew portraits and caricatures at Colonial Williamsburg's Busch Gardens. As a young adult, she worked production jobs in news, theater, and television. While attending UCLA film school and making a frustrating attempt at becoming a writer, she took a painting class and began to merge her desire to tell stories with her gift for drawing and painting. Her work offers humorous commentary that can be viewed through the discourses of race, class, gender, and sexuality. Her works illustrates a range of subjects that are often based on autobiographical or biographical personal experience narratives. www.zealsart.com
